| For
most patients that are prescribed the drug, the recommended
starting Levitra dosage is 10 mg, taken orally approximately
sixty minutes before sexual activity. This dosage may be increased
to a maximum recommended dosage of 20 mg, or decreased to 5
mg based on suitability and possible side effects.
Typically, a starting dosage of 5mg is recommended for patients
that are 65 years of age or older. Other available Levitra
doses are 2.5mg, 5mg, 10 mg and 20mg.
The maximum recommended Levitra dosage frequency is once
per day. Doses should be taken at least twenty four hours
apart. Levitra can be taken with or without food, and ultimately,
some form of sexual stimulation will be needed for there to
be a response to the treatment in the form of an erection.
Remember too that some men must only take a low or small
dosage of Levitra because of certain medical conditions they
may have or medicines they may take. Thus, only a doctor can
prescribe the Levitra dosage that would be right for each
individual.
Important notes:
- Do not change your Levitra dosage without speaking first
to your doctor
- If you take too much Levitra (more than one per day),
call a doctor or visit a hospital emergency room immediately
